CurrentTV prepares a re-launch

Sue October 14th, 2007

Via DownloadSquad, Current TV, the Al Gore-backed TV network, is gearing up for a major relaunch of its web site that could help it break away from the nirvana of cable and recapture the Net. The official launch of the site is scheduled for Oct. 16, and Gore himself has been taking a break from the slideshow business to drum up publicity at the Emmys and on The Tonight Show, proclaiming that Current.com will “take interactivity to a new level.

Current TV will hold two sessions at ConvergeSouth this year and address issues like how to make a Current pod, demo pods, answer questions and Saskia Wilson-Brown and Brandon Gross will take pitches. Be sure to sign up for dinner with them on Saturday night on the ConvergeSouth dinner wiki. There are only 4 seats left.

Sue September 6th, 2007

Saskia Wilson-Brown and Brandon Gross from CurrentTV will lead a 2-part “how-session” at ConvergeSouth. They will present on topics including how to make a Current pod; they’ll show several pods; answer questions; take pitches. They will also host a Saturday night (early) dinner so that participants can get to the Film Festival on time. Be sure to sign up on the updated wiki for your dinner preference for Saturday night, October 20.

Ed Cone August 2nd, 2007

Not only is Amber Rhea a master (or mistress) of podcasting, apparently Amber has other talents. Pole dancing is the new geek pastime, we hear! Be sure to check out Amber’s “Podcasting and Beyond” how-to at ConvergeSouth 2007!

Loren Feldman goes south!

admin May 25th, 2007

Guess who’s coming to ConvergeSouth? In honor of our first Film Festival (organized by Greensboro’s Child producer Andy Coon), we’ve invited (and he accepted) Loren Feldman of 1938media.com fame. Loren is the definition of What you see if what you get and he’ll bring his sense of humor and video content expertise to lead one session and participate as a panelist (and host a dinner!).

We hear the working title is “Videos that Don’t Suck.” Video and film people will get that.
